The Czech Alzheimer Society and the Center of Expertise in Longevity and Long-term Care, FHS UK, with the support of the South Moravian Region, will hold a conference on "Relationships and Activities in the Dementia Care, The Club and Namasté Care" (shortly the Namaste Conference) on 28 June 2017.

On April 18, 2017, the Health Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic under the auspices of the Vice-Chairman of the Committee MUDr. David Kasal hosts a seminar named "Dementia as a Challenge of the Present and a Problem of the Future?" Center of Expertise in Longevity and Long-term Care, International Longevity Center, the Czech Republic has published the monograph "Selected Areas and Scales of Functional Geriatric Assessment".
The publication presents several basic tools of functional geriatric assessment, which is one of the important tools for the care of geriatric patients. Functional geriatric evaluation should be a fundamental starting point for both the planning of individualized care for geriatric patients and the monitoring of its results.
He had been working as a general practitioner in the center of London for 30 years, and was appointed the first professor of general medicine with a mandate to deal with aging issues and its context in primary care. Main areas of his interest include supporting health of the elderly, especially with regard to the promotion of physical activity and mental health, and the possibilities of preventing dementia. He has participated in research programs and studies funded by the National Institutes for Health Research, the Research Council for Medical Research and the European Union.
Prof. Iliffe has been working with doc. Holmerova within the INTERDEM network for a long time, since the last year he participated in the CELLO FHS UK project "Case management as a complex intervention in dementia, its impact on resource utilisation and the quality of life of patients and caregivers" (15-329 42A) funded by the Czech Health Research Council of the Czech Ministry of Health.
