Katerina graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Charles University in Prague. Later in 2009, she completed a doctoral program at the same faculty focused on evaluation of physical fitness among older adults. During her postgraduate program, Katerina engaged in a long-term internship at the Institute of Gerontology, Wayne State University in Detroit, MI (USA) where she continued working as a Senior Research Scientist after her doctoral studies. Soon after her return to the Czech Republic in 2010, she joined the ILA, s.r.o. and participated on preparation and management of projects in the field of biomedicine. Later she helped to develop a new methodology aimed to identify architectural barriers at home for people with mobility limitations (SEMAFORhome). Since 2012, she is a member of CELLO research team.
