Anna Berankova has received her masters in special education at Charles University in Prague. She is a PhD student and she studies dementia in people with intellectual disabilities. In 2011 she traveled to Scotland, University of Stirling, Dementia Services Development Center, as a long-term visiting student. She focuses on small group homes. Besides her studies, she also lectures a training course for support workers of people with dementia and intellectual disabilities.
She works as a coordinator of international Czech-Austrian project researching long-term care facilities in the Czech Republic and Austria.
When she is not working nor studying, she spends time with her two daughters. Watching them discover the world is the most amazing adventure of science.
